ABOUT MALU I KA ʻULU
The Malu i Ka ʻUlu program is dedicated to promoting mental health and self-healing for Maui County residents affected by the Maui wildfires. Malu i Ka ʻUlu translates to “shaded by the breadfruit tree” in Hawaiian and symbolizes protection, peace, nourishment, and growth. Just as the Pu’uhonua system provided shelter and rejuvenation, we aim to offer a restorative space for individuals to regain their strength and continue their journey with renewed energy and resilience.

Geography served: Hawaiian Islands - our warm line was created after the August 8th 2023 wildfires on Maui, for survivors of the Maui wildfires. Many survivors have moved to different islands so anyone on any of the islands is able to call us.
